SAN DIEGO – Today is Day 3 of FilmOut San Diego’s 15th annual LGBT Film Festival, and the first screening, at 5 pm, is "Raid Of The Rainbow Lounge" documenting the amazing public uprising in Fort Worth, Texas against police brutality towards the LGBT community.

Thirty-five feature films and shorts are being shown at the LGBT Film Festival from May 29 to June 2 at the historic Birch North Park Theater.

FilmOut San Diego's LGBT Film Festival is one of the most popular LGBT film festivals in the United States and typically draws moviemakers and stars to America's Finest City to attend the screenings of their movies and to speak during the Q&A sessions with FilmOut audiences.

The 2013 festival highlights include one world premiere, two U.S. premieres, 12 West Coast premieres and two California premieres.

Festival tickets are now on sale at the FilmOut San Diego website HERE.

“Raid Of The Rainbow Lounge” (2012), directed by Robert L. Camina, 103 minutes, U.S.

A full-length documentary film recounting the events surrounding the widely publicized and controversial raid of a Fort Worth, Texas gay bar in 2009. Following a sordid aftermath, Fort Worth would become a leader in LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) equality. However, that journey was not smooth and without controversies. Witness history unfolds as the film documents that journey from the perspective of eyewitnesses, activists and politicians who helped change the city. (Narrated by television icon and Emmy-nominated actress, Meredith Baxter).

“The Go Doc Project” (2013), directed by Cory James Krueckeberg, 91 minutes, U.S
West Coast premiere

From the creators of the hit musical "Were The World Mine" comes "The Go Doc Project." Too shy to make a proper introduction, a recent college grad (Tanner Cohen) devises to make a documentary film about the NYC nightlife scene in order to meet the go-go guy (Matthew Camp) he’s cyber-obsessed with. Camera in hand, he follows his subject across the city: into restaurants and bars, onto rooftops and dance floors and ultimately into living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms & bedrooms. “The Go Doc Project” is a hybrid of documentary, narrative and art film forms. It’s a fast, fleeting summer fling in the city. It’s about obsession and love. It’s a young man’s graphic self-exploration as he determines what is right for his own future.

* Shown with “Chaser” (2012), directed by Sal Bardo, 15 minutes, U.S.
West Coast premiere

Alienated from his conservative Jewish family and community, a promising young, gay schoolteacher seeks solace in New York City's barebacking scene.
